Attending an interview with a family / employer can be a daunting experience. So, to give yourself the best possible chance of success, follow these 15 simple steps:
Establish as much information as you can about the role and the employers from your Tigerlily consultant.
Ensure you know where the interview is taking place, plan your journey and allow for the unexpected e.g. traffic delays. If you are running late, let Tigerlily know.
Take these with you in a well-presented folder.
We always recommend dressing smartly, with minimal jewellery, tattoos/piercings hidden and clean shoes.
Do not talk badly about any previous employers, positions, agencies.
Employers value trust, discretion and integrity.
Employers will know if you are not being open/honest about an issue.
Most employers will enquire about various aspects of your career history and interests.
Arm yourself with intuitive questions and ask them at a suitable time. This demonstrates your interest and helps you establish key facts about the role.
We recommend avoiding discussions about salary / packages unless the employer raises them. We are experienced at negotiating salary aspects on your behalf and the employer won’t think this is your main interest in applying for the position.
Use examples from your previous roles to demonstrate ways you have resolved problems or made positive contributions.
Employers appreciate clear, simple answers to questions.
If you do have concerns about the role, discuss these with your Tigerlily consultant after the interview.
Interviews usually end when the employer and candidate have exhausted all their questions and a 'natural' end occurs. Best not to overstay your welcome by chatting unnecessarily. Most importantly, do not leave mid-interview even if you have another appointment. Interview lengths vary, so always make sure you allow sufficient time to conclude the interview. Employers will interpret an early departure as disinterest.
At all times and thank the employer at the end of the interview.
Working parents are able to off-set a percentage of the cost of employing a Nanny against childcare vouchers which are available from their employer. To do this, they will need to employ a Nanny that is registered with Ofsted.

The total cost can vary so please check the Ofsted and Capita websites above. If a family asks you to become Ofsted registered, they may be willing to cover all or part of the cost.
The registration process can take up to 10 weeks. However it is usually closer to 6 weeks. Upon completion, you will receive a URN (unique reference number).
